Installation

Download, open, and meet the requirements.

Requirements

  • An Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later).
  • macOS 14 (Sonoma) or newer.
  • 8 GB of RAM recommended; the optional larger model is happiest with more.

Install

  1. 1Download GrammarGem from your purchase confirmation or the website.
  2. 2Open the .dmg and drag GrammarGem to your Applications folder.
  3. 3Launch it. GrammarGem lives in the menu bar — look for its icon near the clock, not in the Dock.

Signed & notarized

Release builds are codesigned and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens them without scary warnings.

First launch

On first launch, GrammarGem walks you through granting Accessibility permission and (optionally) downloading the on-device AI model. Grammar and spelling work immediately, with no download.
